Welcome to CT Food Hunters, or to formally introduce myself, my name is Christina and I am the creator of CT Food Hunters!

Before this page started, I started my career in the food service industry over 10 years ago. I always found a love for making people happy with food which inspired me to continue my career going to culinary school for baking after graduating from a technical high school. Throughout my time in school, I worked a busser job at a fine dining restaurant in Providence to learn the insights of the industry and learned there is no food without the team, that time and patience comes with every dish, and food is a beautiful thing that sometimes people take for granted. I learned about the struggles of certain restaurants being unknown and how it impacted every employee there. I remember doing what I could telling friends and friends of friends about these restaurants to help boost their audience even if it was just a little bit. When I moved back home to Shelton, CT back in 2019, I decided to take the leap to start this food page!

To say the least life got busy planning a wedding and buying a house and food got expensive and I couldn’t commit well to running the page, but every once in a while, we would find a good restaurant and share about it, then covid hit. Some of our favorites struggled and closed unfortunately. We did our best to support restaurants on the other end, via social media, and ordering to go when it was convenient for us. As life got a little more normal, my husband and I started checking places out and being more active on our food account. And soon enough, the work we put into this account started to grow and this little page became a full time hobby!

Working full time jobs, any off time is spent working on this page, hoping to create new content that will help some of these amazing restaurants grow. We never ask for payment to create this content as we are just here to help restaurants out and share our love for food with our followers! Numerous restaurants have shared the love back with us, supporting our page and even serving us a warm meal for our work. We are forever grateful for the CT restaurant community and look forward to helping spread happiness through food!
